The G.I. Joe members would not be recognized as much as “Real American Heroes” as they were if not for the bad guys they always defeated. Here they are:
1. Baroness
She is a rich European aristocrat who is the Cobra Team's intelligence officer.
2. Big Boa
Big Boa is the Cobra's head trainer since he was a former street fighter and amateur boxer. Equipped with his viciousness and ruthlessness, he is the one who trains the new recruits turning them to Viper material. He was also able to show his loyalty to Cobra Commander, up until his death.
3. Buzzer
His real name is Dick Blinken. He is famous for using his diamond tooth chainsaw. Although he is arrogant, he probably is the smartest of the Dreadnoks.
4. Cobra CommanderDriven and ruthless, he is the leader and founder of Cobra who is bent on taking over the world. He is also considered the most perilous being on the planet.
5. Copperhead
He is the Cobra boat pilot for driving his "Water Moccasin", which is an air-driven boat and is one of Cobra's swamp vehicles. He is the Naval Commander of the Cobra Team.
6. Croc Master
Being a former security installation expert and crocodile wrestler, he is the appointed animal security supervisor and reptile trainer of the Cobra Team. He is the one in charge of raising and training the aggressive and large crocodiles that guards Cobra Island’s perimeter.
7. Destro
He is the second in command of the Cobra Team. He is the weapons and technical expert and is constantly bent on developing more complicated weaponry.
8. Dr. Mindbender
He is the chief scientist of the Cobra Team who created Serpentor. He experimented on himself which made him a mad scientist. His other creations were the Cobra B.A.T.S. Python Patrol, Brainwave Scanner, Neo-Viper and Moray Bio-tech process.
9. Golobulus
He is Cobra La’s overall ruler.
10. Monkeywrench
His real name is Bill Winkie. He is a Dreadnok explosives expert who is fond of loud explosions and is afraid of big spiders.
11. Nemesis enforcer
He is Cobra La’s winged guardian.
12. Pythona
She is the Lady of Cobra La.
13. Ripper
His real name is Harry Nod. Ripper is proudly anti-social and he likes cutting things wide open as he swears.
14. Scrap Iron
He is the Anti-Armor specialist of the Cobra Team. He will support anyone who sufficiently pays him. He is known for his destructive and advanced weapons systems, along with his analytical mind and quest for perfection.
15. Serpentor
He is the Cobra Emperor who was a creation of Dr. Mindbender designed to take the place of Cobra Commander. He is cited as one of the most brilliant and ruthless tyrants.
16. Wild Weasel
He is an ace pilot who is somehow arrogant as he favored the support jet of Rattler ground. The G.I. Joe pilots dislike him as a man, but have great respect for him being a pilot.
17. ZartanHe is the master of disguise who leads the Dreadnoks. He has a mental disorder that resulted from his having multiple personalities
